Ruinart Launch Second Skin Case
Champagne lovers who are seeking both a sustainable and stylish gift will be able to purchase a completely new concept in champagne gifting – the Ruinart second skin case – available exclusively from Selfridges both in-store and online from 1st September.
With the environment being at the forefront of so many global conversations, individuals are likely to be making more considered choices when it comes to eco-conscious gifting this year. Maison Ruinart’s latest packaging innovation demonstrates that where a gift box made sense in the past, an entirely recyclable cloak is a more suitable fit today.
The ultra-light 100% paper skin, moulded to precisely follow the contours of the bottle’s emblematic curves in a single piece, has been crafted entirely from natural wood fibres sourced from sustainably managed European forests. The elegant minimalist case features a silky yet textured surface that evokes the dramatic chalky nature of the champagne House’s UNESCO World Heritage wine cellars in Reims.
Using a precise, high-pressure waterjet cutting process specially developed for Ruinart, every detail, including its innovative paper snap-button moulded closure system and embossed features, gives the second skin eco packaging its unique elegance. The case is also water-resistant allowing it to be left on the bottle when the being put on ice.
Easily removable once the bottle is empty, the second skin casing and bottle are both 100% recyclable.
Ruinart is the 1st champagne house to discontinue use of the traditional Christmas gift box format.
