Who’s Cooking Dinner? – 25 Top Chefs / 250 diners / One Kitchen / One Important Cause

For one night only, Monday 4th March 2019, 25 of the UK’s most acclaimed chefs will crowd into the kitchen at The Dorchester to mark the 20th anniversary of Who’s Cooking Dinner? – an annual event in aid of Leuka, the leading leukaemia research charity.

This year, Leuka has gathered together a truly remarkable line up of celebrated chefs to support the event, including Alain Ducasse, Clare Smyth, Mark Hix, Skye Gyngell, Tom Kerridge, Angela Hartnett and Claude Bosi, amongst many other acclaimed world class chefs. The array of talent will serve a selection of unique wine pairing menus expertly matched by each restaurant’s sommelier. The 250 guests will only find out who is cooking their dinner on the night revealed by a random draw. After the dinner, guests are invited to bid on exclusive experiences such as a behind the scenes cooking experience at HIDE with Ollie Dabbous and Rick Stein seafood restaurant package. A highlight of the auction includes ‘Take home a chef’, where a number of chefs cooking on the night, offer their services to cook at guests’ homes – a once in a lifetime experience!

Created in 1998, Who’s Cooking Dinner? is the brainchild of chef Peter Gordon, who launched the fundraising event following his sister’s diagnosis with acute myeloid leukaemia. In 1995, Peter donated bone marrow to his youngest sister Tracey, and after her full recovery, Peter recognised the need to help others and the importance of further research into the disease. Joining forces with Peter on Who’s Cooking Dinner? is restauranteur Chris Corbin (The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Brasserie Zédel and Colbert). At the age of 38, Chris was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia. For the next four years, he and his family were left in limbo while they waited for a suitable bone marrow match, which he received in 1994. Chris is now the Chairman of Leuka and Who’s Cooking Dinner? and together with Peter, is championing Leuka and raising vital funds for research and treatment into leukaemia.

Speaking about the evening, Peter Gordon says: “Who’s Cooking Dinner? is a celebration of what can be achieved when an industry comes together to make a difference. There is real camaraderie in the kitchen, but there’s also intense heat – these chefs are out to impress!”
