Clergerie present their SS19 Collection at Paris Fashion Week
The relationship between man and nature and the art forms that capture it influenced Clergerie’s Creative Director David Tourniaire-Beauciel’s Spring Summer 2019 collection. Vegetable-tanned leather, soft suede and raffia in a natural hue are used throughout this Seventies inspired collection.
Highlight of the SS19 collection is the collaboration with Beijing-based stylist Lucia Liu. Clergerie and Lucia Liu share a passion for innovative design and outstanding artisanal expertise. This collaboration celebrates craftsmanship, highly valued at Clergerie, through a modern reinterpretation of traditional designs and techniques. Signature Clergerie platforms, on articulated soles, are embellished with embroideries designed with Lucia Liu and inspired by vibrant traditional clothing from Liu’s native Sichuan region. Delicate flowers and metallic details are embroidered by hand on soft lambskin, while the wedges have a subtle punk vibe, creating a unique contrast. The shoes are developed in Clergerie’s own ateliers, in Romans-sure-Isère, France. The collaboration will feature two styles, both available in black or white: a high monk-strap on a 100mm articulated wedge and a lace-up derby on an 85mm articulated wedge.
